Upon successful completion of this 16-hour IN-PERSON intermediate-level first aid training, the candidate will receive a valid certification that meets the requirements of 'Intermediate First Aid Training' as defined in the CSA Z1210-17 standard.

Kansas follows the federal OSHA rule (29 CFR 1910.151(b)): no numeric first-aider-to-worker ratio, but where no infirmary, clinic, or hospital is in near proximity the employer must ensure one or more persons are adequately trained to render first aid and that adequate supplies are readily available.
Kansas childcare licensing rule K.A.R. 28-4-428(c), administered by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Child Care Licensing, requires at least one staff member or volunteer counted in the staff-child ratio to hold current pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR and be present at all times, with new hires certified within 30 days.
Under K.S.A. § 65-2891, a health care provider who in good faith renders emergency care at the scene of an emergency or accident is not liable for civil damages except for gross negligence or willful or wanton acts, and K.S.A. § 65-6149a extends similar immunity to good-faith AED use.
The Kansas State Board of Nursing requires nurses to complete 30 contact hours of continuing nursing education (CNE) every two years, and because the Board accepts CNE approved by a board of nursing or national nursing organization, an approved CPR, ACLS or PALS course that awards contact hours can contribute.
First aid and CPR are required topics in the Kansas state-approved home health aide training course (K.A.R. 28-51-112), so home health aides and certified nurse aides providing hands-on care are expected to be trained to act in an adult or senior medical emergency.
Under K.A.R. 30-47-806, before a license is issued each Kansas foster applicant must complete an instructor-led first-aid course with a post-test and an instructor-led CPR course with a post-skills test appropriate to the children's ages, enforced by the Department for Children and Families (DCF), with current CPR certification maintained.
Online CPR and first aid training is recognized in Kansas for personal, childcare licensing, and employer purposes; OSHA does not prohibit online training but recommends hands-on skills practice, and blended training with a practical skills assessment is accepted.
